Live gold price
Rates are ex-GST bullion rates calibrated to the IBJA benchmark. Jewellers add making charges and 3% GST — see the calculator. Your jeweller's counter rate normally sits a little above the benchmark; set theirs under settings to match this page to them exactly.

India Bullion and Jewellers Association — the rate the Government uses for Sovereign Gold Bonds. Refreshed twice on working days.
How the price is built
- International spot — gold in USD per troy ounce (live: gold-api.com; history: COMEX GC=F via Yahoo Finance, settled closes only, so the day still trading is never stored as a close).
- Convert — ÷ 31.1035 g per oz × USD/INR (ECB reference rate via Frankfurter).
- Land it in India — add customs duty (6% since 23 Jul 2024; 15% before that; 10.75% before Jul 2022) — the schedule is applied date-by-date across the history.
- Calibrate — scale to the latest IBJA 999 rate so the level matches what Indian bullion actually trades at (factor shown below). This step is what makes the two dollar feeds interchangeable: the factor is a ratio, so any steady difference in level between them cancels out of the result.
- Purity — 22K = 91.6%, 18K = 75%. Jewellers add making charges (VA) and 3% GST on top.
A jeweller's counter rate is normally a little above this benchmark, because it carries their local premium before making charges are added at all. That gap is real, not an error on either side. Enter their 22K rate in settings and every 22K figure here moves onto their quote.
The buy signal
Six standard technical checks are scored out of 100: RSI-14, distance from the 50- and 200-day averages, drawdown from the 52-week high, position inside the Bollinger band, and 20-day momentum. 70+ is a strong dip, 55–69 accumulate, 40–54 neutral (keep a monthly SIP), below 40 wait. The forecast band is a log-normal projection using the long-run drift and one year of daily volatility — it is a range of likely outcomes, not a prediction of a single price.
